Woodlands MUDs (municipal utility districts) manage water related taxpayer services and have the power to pay for new development, including commercial re-development with your tax dollars.
Don't know what MUD you're in? There are many ways to find out.
The MUD you're in is on your water bill or scroll down to MUD map on this page to get an idea, look at your tax bill or use MCAD (Montgomery County Appraisal District) site to look up your property to see what MUD taxes you pay.
Then use the button below to find a searchable table of MUDs with links to their meeting materials, meeting videos, meeting schedules, and more.
A map of the MUDs below shows the hodgepodge of geographic bounds - for example MUD 46 covers both the northernmost and southern most parts of The Woodlands, the western most too, but nothing in between.
These directors meet monthly and most take a $150 per meeting payment in accordance with the Texas Water Code. MUD directors are either elected or appointed to fill a vacancy for staggered 4-year terms. Elections are held in even-numbered years with filing due by mid February for a May Election Day. You needn't live in the MUD but do need to own property in it; one square foot will do and can be acquired through gift.
