What could go wrong?
Major repair of existing pipe was missed by MUD Trustees planning future budget costs.
Background
SJRA (the operator of the system) had known the pipe needed to be replaced but the MUD Trustees either were not aware of it or ignored it. Now we have to incorporate it into the budget. What other costs are out there that are being ignored?
What could go wrong?
It’s happened a couple of times before where traffic is detoured around fix-its on Research.
Background
As the GRP pipeline wends along Research Forest, it crosses four active faults. The GRP pipe has special protection for up to a foot of subsidence at two of these faults. However, the two unprotected faults already exceed the maximum allowable subsidence for the design life of these pipes. For more information on faulting visit our sister site StopourSinking.com
