As of July we have the data from May of 2022 on our additional water table drop for the year and additional annual subsidence. Let's hope it rains, and soon!
What could go wrong?
Uneven subsidence can and has caused flooding
Background
Encourage use of more surface water in the county. Speak to your groundwater conservation board about how important it is to conservere our land through responsible development of aquifers.
What could go wrong?
Faults damage homes, roads, businesses, and pipelines.
Background
The Panther Branch fault can be seen from outer space - just google map The Woodlands High School parking lot and follow the fault line, it continues south and has done damage to The Townships PARDES building. Some homeowners are willing to admit they’re on a fault and others have simply arrived at a reasonable MCAD valuation, like $14 a square foot. It is a financial burden to live on a fault with one side of house dropping at an accelerated pace. It has happened to our roads schools and fire stations too. We’ve spent and continue to spend to make fixes.
What could go wrong?
More sinking and more flooding in a community that already experienced devastating flooding from Harvey not long after initial development!
Background
Creekside Park is in Harris county and is using 100% groundwater instead of a blend of surface and groundwater. This means more subsidence in an area that has already had flooding. It may be decades before surface water pipelines are installed, even though surface water is already available across Spring creek.
